Are we ever satisfied?

We're human, right? Humans—well, most of us (though I sometimes think some are aliens)—never seem completely satisfied when it comes to the weather.

It seems that quite a few of us complain about how cold it is throughout winter. Then comes spring, and we're happy because it's getting warmer. But what happens when it turns too warm too fast? We complain, gripe, and moan! Some people do love the heat, and I remember being one of them when I was younger. I could spend hours out in the sun at the beach, and when I got too warm, I'd jump in the lake.

Now that I'm nearing 55, when the sun is high in the sky and I start sweating as soon as I step outside, I prefer staying indoors with the A/C on. Some people, even after 55, can spend time outside without issue. This makes me wonder if how we deal with heat and humidity is influenced by our genes, medications we take, or, of course, how much extra weight we're carrying.

With the weather here in Western PA getting ready to hit 90 this week, I can't help but think of how many times I've complained about how cold it's been or how hot it's going to be. It makes me wonder, "Are we ever satisfied?" Yes and no. Maybe satisfied with some things, maybe content with others, and then we just have to put up with the rest.

Stay cool, my friends!
